Communications and Marketing

Our team creates and manages innovative campaigns for Student Services and Enrollment Management and the Division of Student Life. Yes, we make posters—but we also create comprehensive communication and marketing plans to support your goals. We are a team of creative thinkers, makers, and doers. Basically, we're like a creative agency with a student training ground. We also work closely with University Communications to ensure we are meeting standards and best practice as a university.

Strategic Communications and Marketing “Quiet Period”

Following the recommendation of President Scholz and the Office of Human Resources, SSEM Strategic Communications and Marketing will be observing the University of Oregon “quiet period” from Wednesday, December 25, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Support to our campus partners will be very limited during this time. Our team may continue to work on projects already underway, but new requests will not be acted upon until after we resume normal services on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Submit a Request

Please choose an option below based on your affiliation as an SSEM department, a Student Life department, or a student club or organization.

Some projects take longer to complete. Please review our timelines and best practices to ensure that we have time to meet your desired delivery date.

Plan As Much As Possible

We know this probably goes without saying, but more time always makes for stronger solutions. We'll always do our best to work with your timelines but know we may be limited with time. It always helps to use your summer planning to create your scope documents for the year. The first two weeks of every term usually have the highest volume.

Submit Your Project Request and Goals

We track every project in our system to make sure we are not missing anything. To begin working together please submit an online project request so we can get started. The more details you can give us, the better. Often what helps us most is to understand your goals.

Verify the Plan

Your Account Manager will "verify the plan" with you in Wrike (our project management system) within 3 business days. It's during this time we will decide on the solutions that support your goals and due dates we can achieve together. If you haven't used Wrike, we'd be happy to talk you through it; just let us know.

Production

After the plan is verified with you in Wrike, the creative team gets to work on production. There's a lot of behind the scenes activity during this time. We will message you in Wrike when we have proofs or questions along the way. You will have the chance to comment back to us. You can always look up where a task is in our workflow.

Approvals

Once the proofs or final products are ready, it's time for you to approve or make requested changes. Once you approve the final product, we will publish, print, tweet, order—you name it.

Delivery and Ticket Closing

After we have completed everything for the task/project we will archive the work in Wrike, deliver, publish, etc. Archives are always stored in our office; if you need access to that information or files later please let us know.

Meet the Creative Team

We are a creative team with years of experience—in fact, we have been working professionally for over 200 years combined. We love to work together to solve problems, find creative ideas, and support the programs and departments for our amazing students, faculty, staff, families, and alumni. Our work would not be possible without our student employees who enjoy learning alongside our professional staff; it's an opportunity to apply the knowledge they learn in their classrooms from our outstanding faculty. We also dual report to University Communications which connects us to great staff, resources, and opportunities to learn best practice and collaborate across campus.
