He currently serves as President-Elect of the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO), one of the largest regional professional associations in higher education administration. In addition to his administrative career, Garrity is a Distinguished Adjunct Instructor of history at Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement, where he teaches undergraduate courses on medieval and early modern European history. His scholarly interests focus on student engagement, instructional modality, and learning outcomes in higher education. He is currently completing a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where his dissertation examines outcomes in undergraduate history education for nontraditional learners during the post-COVID transition to online learning environments.

Throughout his career, Garrity has focused on building collaborative partnerships across academic and administrative units, implementing technology to improve institutional effectiveness, and advancing policies that support student success while maintaining the integrity of the academy.
