Marlene Blum is an associate director in Strategic Communications and Marketing who serves as the department’s visual lead. She oversees the conception, content generation, design, and implementation for a wide variety of print and digital projects. Marlene additionally produces live streaming events, podcasts, photo and video shoots.

Before coming to the UO, Marlene worked in marketing and communications for UCLA. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she also worked as a producer and studio manager for studios with national advertising clients.

When Marlene isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two young children and the rest of her family and friends. Despite being born in Corvallis on Beaver Creek Road, the first football team she ever rooted for was the Ducks. A case of wanderlust has led her to explore 25 states and 18 countries—so far. Oregon is still her favorite place.
