Anna Schmidt-MacKenzie serves as the Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff for the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management. She works across the division to support division-wide initiatives and contribute as a member of the SSEM leadership team. She oversees research and assessment, central budget, and finance, and overall supports the mission to provide an outstanding student experience and strong enrollment growth. Anna has been with the University of Oregon since 2015.
Anna grew up in Germany and New York City, but was born in Eugene Oregon, and returned to Oregon in 2015. She is an elected member of the University Senate at the University of Oregon. She has been actively involved in the Association of College and University Housing Officers International through their research committee and National Housing Training Institute (NHTI) coordinating committee. She previously worked at Columbia University and New York University, and prior to her current role, served as the Director of University Housing for Residence Life and Educational Initiatives here at the University of Oregon.
She earned her doctorate degree in higher education and postsecondary education from New York University (NYU) in 2017, her master’s degree in higher education administration from NYU in 2002, and a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in 2000. She enjoys traveling, running (especially the New York City marathon!), and chasing after her five-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.
