Laura Abbott is the executive assistant and human resources manager for Continuing and Professional Education. She provides administrative support to the executive director for Continuing and Professional Education, while actively developing and implementing processes to support the growing staffing needs of CPE. She is responsible for all human resources operations within the department, and provides noncredit program support to numerous CPE programs.

Laura began her career with the University of Oregon in 2015. She previously worked as a preschool teacher for a local daycare and as an administrative assistant and licensure coordinator for the School of Education at Northwest Christian University (now Bushnell University). She has previously served on the SSEM Diversity Task Force, and currently volunteers for the Oregon CUPA-HR conference planning committee.

Laura is a transplant from California and earned both her bachelor’s in early childhood and elementary education and MEd in curriculum design and instructional technology from Northwest Christian University. She loves to experiment with new recipes, take weekend getaways to Central Oregon, and spend time with her fiancé and two sons.
