Michael Thompson serves as the senior assistant director and is the executive assistant to the senior associate vice president and director of financial aid. Michael supports budget and administrative operations for the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, financial literacy, SSEM Events Office, Student Orientation Programs, and Continuing and Professional Development. Michael became a member of the UO community in 2006.

As a member of the SSEM presentation team, Michael welcomes and delights guests in Student Welcome Center, is the Oregon Evans Scholars Advisor, assists the UO Dive Program as a dive master, and is a campus wellness ambassador.

Michael earned a drama degree in 1996 from the University of Washington, where he worked for 10 years in the UW School of Drama as an assistant production manager and front of house supervisor. An avid golfer and runner, you can often catch Michael announcing around the northwest at a local 5K fun run or the Hood-to-Coast Relay.
