Colleen Schlonga

Colleen Schlonga is associate director for written communications for Strategic Communications and Marketing in Student Services and Enrollment Management. Colleen writes and edits content for publications, websites, and email communications for both employee and student audiences. She also supervises other writers and serves as the client manager for the Office of the Dean of Students in the Division of Student Life. Colleen began her work at the University of Oregon in 2016 as the marketing manager for University Health Services, then joined the consolidated SSEM strategic communications team the following year.

Colleen earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Whitworth College (now Whitworth University). She went on to gain experience as a copy editor and page designer at a daily newspaper before moving into marketing and communications for private businesses and municipal employers. Colleen has worked in higher education since 2008, when she became the communications coordinator for the student health center at Oregon State University.

Born in Portland and raised in Vancouver, Washington, Colleen has lived her entire life in the Pacific Northwest. She is a committed bicycle commuter and in her free time enjoys cooking, gardening, and being outdoors—especially fly fishing, hiking, and camping.
