Julia Pomerenk is an associate vice president for Student Services and Enrollment Management and university registrar. She directs staff members who manage all student records and processes, including academic and classroom scheduling, registration, enrollment and degree verification, grading, degree audits, course evaluations, transfer work, degree awarding, administration of veterans’ benefits, and compliance with student records policies. The University Testing Center also reports to Julia. Currently, Julia also serves as the interim director of strategic communications and marketing for the division.
Before arriving at the UO, Julia served as the university registrar at Washington State University (WSU) for 14 years. While working at WSU, she collaborated to establish the curriculum for the new College of Medicine, from concept to courses. Prior to her position at WSU, Julia worked at Pacific Lutheran University as registrar. Julia serves as the vice president for Records and Academic Services for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). She has also served as president of the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (PACRAO) and in other leadership positions at the state, regional, and national levels. Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from Pacific Lutheran University and a master’s degree in English from Ohio State University.
Beyond the tree-filled UO campus, Julia enjoys all the Oregon locations where she can watch the waves of the Pacific Ocean and all the places where she can watch local, live performances on stage.
